Walls over 4' in height should have minimum 12" to 18" gravel pocket. Taller walls subject to increased gravel pocket dimensions in order to alleviate hydrostatic pressure build -up and decrease active / passive pressure on the back of the wall. Surcharge Any walls within equal distance to wall height of existing structure to be designed for surcharge. For example: a 6' tall wall located within 6' of future house or Firelane must be designed for Firelane surcharge which should increase wall dimensions a minimum 30 %.
