Mr. Tanner,
I appreciate you sending me these pictures. I can see that you are very passionate about this issue. I will share this
information with my supervisor and confirm that the answer I previously gave you is the position of the city.
One not about acquisition of private property for public use, it is sometime harder than it appears. The developer of this
particular subdivision is currently suing the city for several things that we required during the development process. One of
those things is the dedication of the easement and the construction of the 5' sidewalk that ties into the bridge.

Kevin,
I've attached some photos. As you can see the asset is already there
(although some clean up is needed). It seems like such a waste to not make
the connection here.
I think we can overcome the space constraint issue. It looks like there is
about 15 feet between the sidewalk and the neighborhood stone wall on the
West side. There is even more space after you pass the north end of that
wall. My guess is that since the improvement would be an asset to the new
neighborhood that it would be fairly easy to get them to dedicate this the
needed land from this unused area. I would be glad to assist in making
that inquiry.
Thank you.

Mr. Tanner,
The City of Coppell currently has a project in the design phase to "infill"
the missing sidewalk sections along Denton Tap from SH 121 to Belt Line
Road. This will include the section between Meadowcreek and the bridge.
(9/7/2010) Keith Marvin - RE: Hike & Bike and/or SidewalkPage 2
We also have Bethel Road under design, which will include sidewalk from
Denton Tap to Freeport Parkway. This will include a signalized, ADA
compliant, pedestrian crossing of Denton Tap at Bethel Road.
I have reviewed the sketches you sent to John Elias concerning utilizing the
trail section under the bridge over Grapevine Creek to cross Denton Tap. We
have only 5 feet of city owned right of way on the west side of the bridge.
There is not sufficient room to construct an ADA compliant trail within a 5
foot area in addition to the necessary retaining walls and grading.
Considering the space constraints, and the ADA complaint signalized crossing
that is to be built 350 feet south of this location, I do not believe we
will pursue this.
If you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to call me.
