Contract Amendment #2
Dear Mr. Marshall:
We are asking the City of Coppell for amendment to our contract for the above referenced project. This amendment No. 2 is for
additional engineering services for drainage design and analysis that was not included in the original contract. The original scope of
the project had no provision for engineering services for storm sewer design or analysis at the eastern side of the project where the
existing storm sewer outfalls to a pond before entering into Denton Creek. By recommendation of the City we excluded the cost of
this design because that area had recent improvements to the storm sewer system through private development. After the contract was
awarded further analysis was completed and concluded that the system was not adequate to handle the 100 year rainfall event.
The following is a summary of work associated with the drainage analysis and design showing the approximate additional hours
utilized for this design:
Existing Site Analysis hours
-Site visits 5
- Review of existing record drawings 20
- Meetings /communication with City Staff 5
-Runoff computations /Drainage area maps 20
Engineering Design
- Horizontal alignment alternatives 10
- Profiles for alignment alternatives 15
- Preparation of Plans /Specification 5
-Cost estimates 2
Total Hours: 82
Attachment 1 is our effective hourly rates for engineering services. 1 have based the additional time on my rate of $140.00 per hour.
Therefore, 82 hours at $140.00 per hour equates to $11,480.00. If this is acceptable to you please let me know or if you need this
amendment to be in a different format.
