WA0601-CS090706 Page 1 of 1 Keith Marvin - Hunterwood Concrete From:   "Lee Halencak" <lee@bowmanconstruction.com> To:   <kmarvin@ci.coppell.tx.us> Date:   7/6/2009 8:01 AM Subject:   Hunterwood Concrete CC:   <adrian@bowmanconstruction.com>   Keith,   In the research that I have completed about the additional concrete here is what I have found.   The original bid contained three locations for sidewalk replacement for an estimated quantity of 90 SF (three panels that are 5’x6’).  We actually replaced four places that totaled 156.2 SF (5.5’x6’, 8.2’x6’, 7.8’x6’, and 6.8’x4’).    On pavement the bid contained an estimated quantity of 27 SY (40’x6’).  This was to replace the concrete at the intersection of Dillard and Anderson with a trench opening of 40’x6’.  Based on joint patterns and condition of existing concrete we ended up replacing additional concrete.  The trench part of the replaced ended up being 36’x6’ but we had and additional replacement of 16’x3.5’ on Anderson.  Those two measurements were for 8” pavement to match the existing thickness of Anderson.   Then we match existing thickness on Dillard which is 6”.  We replaced a strip that was 36’x2.5’ and both radii along with 12’ of curb.   Total pavement replacement came to 46 SY which is 19 SY more than the original estimated quantity.  The sidewalk came out to an additional 66 SF from original estimate.   This is why we are asking for additional compensation to cover the cost of the additional materials labor and equipment used to replaced the pavement that we were asked to complete.   Let me know if you need additional information and I will put together what I can.   Thanks        Lee M.
