Addition of Pump Number 4
Gentlemen:
After observing the physical condition of the 600 horsepower General Electric motor at the job site for the
Addition of Pump Number 4 at the Village Parkway Pump Station, the City of Coppell has some doubts that
the motor is in fact new. On behalf of the City we are requesting verification that the motor provided is new
and not re-built or reconditioned. Using serial numbers on the motor housing, please have the motor
manufacturer provide verification of the date of manufacture, customer name, shipping date and delivery
location. In addition, we request a representative of the motor manufacturer meet with us at the job site to
verify the data and operating condition of the motor.
Any other data you, the pump supplier or the motor manufacturer can supply to verify the status of the motor
would be helpful. In the meantime, it is advisable not to connect the motor to the pump nor otherwise start
the motor until the motor is verified as new.
Please coordinate and provide this information at your earliest convenience and notify us of the date for the
meeting with the manufacturer' s representative. If you have any questions or need additional direction,
please do not hesitate to contact this office.
