Re: Interlocal Agreement between the City of Coppell and DART
Dear Mr. Anderson:
At the City of Coppell's Council Meeting of August 8, 1989, a motion
was made by Councilman Tom Morton and seconded by Councilman Bill
Smothermon to approve and adopt an Interlocal Agreement between DART
and the City of Coppel! that implements and provides for financial
assistance on selected and approved Local Assistance Projects.
Council vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
Please note at that same meeting, the City Council approved the
submission of a Local Assistance Project to DART, which is the
Schematic Design Plans for improvements to the intersection of Sandy
kake Road and MacArthur Blvd. The applications for CAP and TAP on
this project were submitted to the DART offices on August 4, 1989 for
consideration of approval (see attached).
Please find enclosed the executed Agreement to DART. We await the
return of the fully executed Agreement for our records.

This intersecticn was s:gnalized back in early 1989, and it is within
DART'S expressed Bus Service rout to and from Coppell.
There are two design levels of improvement considered for this intersec-
t!on,
They are: Level i Schematic ~esign plans of geometrics widening
of Sandy Lake Road at Mac Arthur Blvd. toward
interim improvement at this intersection~ which
would be allowed with this CAP funding.
Level 2 Ultimate upgrading of the intersection and ma-
jor intersection improvement is the next phase,
per Coppell's 5- yr. C.I.P. and thoroughfare
plan.
