Ef EDIIVIL71 CONCRETE) Redi -Mix Concrete, L.P. a US Concrete Company The Technical Service Department 331 North Main St Euless, TX 76039 Office: (817) 835 -4100 Fax: (817) 439 -6701 October 19, 2010 RedimixQC ©us-concrete.com www.us- concrete.com To: 3D Paving Project: Denton Tap Sidewalks & Misc. RE: Submittal Documents Enclosed you will find the necessary submittal documents for the referenced project above for your review. Redi -Mix's strength guarantee per ASTM C94 will not be effective unless the field sampling has been done per ASTM C172 and ASTM C31 and the laboratory testing fully complies with ASTM C39 and ASTM C1077. Redi -Mix will also guarantee the strength performance of the mix designs submitted for a placement temperature between 40 °F and 100 °F provided the design plastic properties are not exceeded and the concrete is placed within 90 minutes of batch time. This concrete temperature range shall not supersede any temperature specification. All concrete should be placed and cured with the appropriate ACI guidelines and recommendations for hot and cold weather concreting. Hot weather concreting practices will require you to order ice and/or chilled water to meet concrete temperature specifications. During periods of cold weather, all concrete surfaces should be protected from freezing for at least the first 24 hours after placement to allow the concrete to attain a compressive strength of 500 psi. According to ACI 304.2R Section 4.2.1 "Placing Concrete by Pumping Methods ", the inside diameter of the hose should be a minimum of 3 times the maximum angular aggregate size of the concrete. (ASTM C33 allows #57LS to have up to 5% retained on the 1" sieve). It is recommended to minimize or eliminate the free fall of concrete to avoid loss of air content. Depending on boom configurations, alterations to the mix design may be required. We thank you for allowing us to submit these documents for your review. Please copy Redi -Mix with the approved submittal. The approved submittal allows Redi -Mix to review any notes, comments or exceptions made by the engineer or owner relating to the specification. Failure to notify us prior to first placement shall constitute acceptance of the submitted mix designs. Please order by mix number when scheduling concrete delivery. We request that you add Redi -Mix to the list of names receiving copies of testing laboratory information for this project. ASTM C94 entitles a manufacturer to receive copies of all test reports when strength of concrete is used as a basis for acceptance. This information is another tool for Redi -Mix to review and monitor the quality and performance of the concrete product delivered. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call.
