RE: Creekview Drive Extension & Freeport Parkway ST 00-01
Sheet 6:
1. Refers to Comment 11: Barrier free ramps were added to the north side of Creekview and the entrance
to Wagon Wheel Park. Ramps were not added to the south side of Creekview or to Ruby Road, are
they required in these areas also?
The ramp needs to be added to the south side of Creekview.
Sheet 7:
1. Would consider changing the line type of the existing pavement from Station 27+00 to Station
31+18.34 so that it is not the same as the proposed pavement.
2. Show curve radii at the intersection of Ruby Road.
The intersection is being revised to have 3 lanes and a free right turn lane.
3. Pavers are shown across Freeport Parkway at the intersection of Ruby Road, is this correct? Are there
supposed to be pavers across Ruby Road? There are no pavers shown across Freeport Parkway at the
intersection of Creekview Drive.
Remove the pavers across Freeport and pavers are not required on Ruby Road.
4. Show centerline station where Ruby Road intersects Freeport Parkway.
Sheet 8:
1. Cannot read the information under the paving pattern.
2. Show the radius at the park entrance median.
Sheet 14:
1. Refers to Comments 25&26: There is a power pole shown on the plans just west of Station 3+81.50.
The power pole appears to be in the center of the retaining wall. It will be difficult to construct the
retaining wall, the water line and the curb inlet without disturbing the power pole.
2. Refers to Comments 25&26: The plans show the water line located 6.5 feet behind the back of curb
which makes the water line 3 feet off of the right-of-way. May want to note on plans that the 6.5'
dimension is from the back-of-curb. Other dimensions shown on the plans are to the face of curb.
The water line is to be centered in between the ROW and back of curb. The water line will go under the
inlet box. Two power poles will probably need to be relocated.
Add isolation valves along the water line.
3. One of the comments on the review plans referred to a detail showing the connection of the blow-off
valve to the curb inlet. There is not a detail shown on the revised plan sheets.
The bow-off valve detail to the curb inlet needs to be added.
Sheet 19:
1. Modular Block Wall: This detail shows the retaining wall constructed outside of the right-of-way
inside of the drainage easement. The plan-profile sheets show the retaining wall located inside of the
right-of-way. Does the language in the drainage easement allow for the construction of retaining
walls?
Plastic ties to hold the blocks in place. Epoxy the top block so that it is not displaced.
Make the wall higher so that there is less area required to tie back into and less damage to the existing
shrubbery in the developed area. Color to match wall in the park
2. Modular Block Wall: The dimension of 10' to the back of curb is incorrect. It should be 9.5' to the
back of curb and 10' to the face of the curb. This would agree with the other dimensions shown on the
plan-profile sheets.
3. Barrier Free Ramp: The 12:1 sloped area may need to be widened.
Ramps will be looked at to see that they meet TAS requirements.
General Comments:
1. A small area in the 100-year flood plain will be impacted by the proposed construction. Since the area
is so small, the Corps may only need to be notified of the proposed construction. Engineer may need
to prepare the letter.
Flood plain permit will be given by the city.
2. Will THC or TAS approval be required prior to construction?
Need to check with engineer to see if TAS approval is required.
3. Specifications: the limits of construction are not clearly indicated on the plans. The grading limits
extend onto private property on the south side of Creekview Drive.
Letters of permission will be prepared and obtained by the city.
4. Specifications: Is the contractor responsible for relocating the power poles? It initially appears that
two power poles will need to be relocated.
Do we need to send a set of plans to TXU for them to relocate once they are finaled.
Check the proposed fence to be added at the entrance to the park see if the entry and exit lanes can be
widened to that the left hand turn lane into the park can be made into a dual turn lane.
Junction box is supposed to be added at B-1,B-2.
Design of pavement marking and signs.
Light conduits along Freeport parkway for lighting.
Gabion contractor needs to have experience - this needs to be stated in the specifications
Gabions need to be tied back into the embankment
Irrigation conduits back into the park
Revise council member names
Project to advertise on July 20 and 27 & bid opening on August 14 or 16.
