Subject: Problems with road construction on Clear Creek Ln.
Hello,
I am writing to you all today to discuss the problems I am experiencing with the road construction on my street,
Clear Creek Ln and to ask for your help. First, I think that it is insensitive and discourteous that they begin on the
weekends at lam. This is not the side of a freeway it is a residential neighborhood that used to be a peaceful one.
This noise pollution as well as the headaches it is causing at such an early hour six days a week is unacceptable. It
is also against Coppell's noise ordinance according to ordinance number 2009 -1243, Section 9 -13 -2. I would like it
addressed.
Additionally I am very concerned that we have received no mail in two days. Last Thursday when they tore up the
side of the road that they've moved our mailboxes to, they didn't see fit to put the mailboxes onto the other side of
the road that was not torn up before tearing it up. So, the mail truck couldn't get to any of the mailboxes. Friday,
they moved the mailboxes and left dirt and rocks on the ledge of mine, however, they blocked both sides of the
street all day, resulting in no mail, I think. I say I think because when a package I was waiting on was tracked, the
post office says it was delivered at 11:07 am. We have no mail at all and we always, always get at least junk mail.
Now, what happened to this package and our mail I have no idea. I have talked to one of the construction
company's field supervisors and gotten no answers at all. I have never had a problem receiving mail or even large
packages that had to be left on my front porch until now. Yes, a claim can be filed with the post office for a lost
package, but this doesn't make up for a Christmas gift that will not be received in time for Christmas now, the
additional cost of having to go purchase a new gift or the aggravation and insecurity of having things possibly
stolen. This situation is also not acceptable. I would like it addressed as soon as possible.
Right now, in my front yard there is trash. There are several (4 -5) empty boxes strewn about, perhaps packages
that others were expecting or perhaps construction parts I don't know. There is a large roll of what appears to be
black plastic sheeting. There is also a ladder in and amongst the debris and the mud pile that was left along with
the assorted parts of what appears to be my water meter. There is a bottle of one of the workmen's drinks that was
left on the ledge of my mailbox that we had to remove the dirt and rocks from yesterday. This situation is also
unacceptable. I would like it addressed as soon as possible.
Again, this is not the side of a freeway or an industrial area, at least it didn't use to be. It is a residential area. I
understand that they have work to accomplish and that this is going to put everyone out a bit from time to time, but
what I have written to you all about today is not part of being inconvenienced. It is shoddy workmanship, lack of
respect for the people who are unfortunate enough to have to live here during this time and it is quite possibly theft
as well. They could at the very least be courteous in going about their work.
I would like someone, many someones is fine, to get back to me once these problems have been addressed and
inform me what will be done to resolve these problems so that we may again live here in peace with some relative
sense of security.
Thank you for your time,
Debbi Aiken
