In keeping with the original intent of the contract documents, a bonus of $40,000 can be achieved if the bridge is open to traffic by September 21, 2010. Based on your closure date of 6/14/2010, 4 months + 2 weeks will be 10/25/2010, any completion date prior to this day will earn a bonus of $1,000 per day. Per the contract, the total incentive payment for the bridge construction shall not exceed $40,000. The overall contract completion time remains at 270 calendar days. If you are in agreement, we'll put this on the change order list. Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681 >>> "Marty Murphy" <Martym@JRJPaving.com> 8/9/2010 3:43 PM >>> Keith, I appreciate you meeting with us last week to discuss a solution to this dilemma. After discussing this last week, we want to accept your offer of a time extension of 15 days making the total completion time 135 calendar days in lieu of the original 120 calendar days. This is with the (1/12/2011) Keith Marvin - RE: Bethel bridge time extensionPage 2 understanding that this time extension will not affect the bonus plan of $1000.00 per day for every day earlier than the 135 calendar days. We will in turn pay the premium out of our pocket to the manufacturer to move up on the production line and have the beams delivered on the 19th of this month. This way our anticipated completion and opening of the bridge will now be 9/15/10. Please let me know if you are in agreeance still with your original offer as stated above. Marty
