The material shown on the referenced sheet appears to be a type "D" flex base with a cement additive rather than a CTB or
flowable fill type material.

The submittal for cement treated base backfill has been rejected. See attached. Sheet ST-33 (SEQ 47-80) does not allow
asphalt pavement in the flex base.
Please re-submit shop drawing for cement treated base backfill with no asphaltic pavement.

From a structural standpoint this will be an acceptable substitute in lieu of the cement treated base as shown on
plans. We make this approval with the understanding there will be no change in the unit cost for Bid Item #204.
Please resubmit this mix design at a 100 PSI min and we will review and approve accordingly.

I would propose to substitute a sand/cement flowable fill--Im pretty sure it was a 3 sack mix we used last On PBGT behind the
abutments--I will submit a mix design if you can specify a min PSI required if Flowable Fill is accepted
TXI is only making CTB with recycled asphalt right now
