RE: Utility Construction - Heartz Road; Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Anderson:
Your letter dated 2/4/91 along with the letter from Geo-Technique,
Inc. dated 2/1/91 regarding density requirements for backfill for
underground installation of utilities has been received.
Staff has reviewed your comments and those of Mr. Louis L. Hargis,
P.E. of Geo-Technique, Inc. related to the N.C.T.C.O.G.
specifications 6.2.9 "backfill" for underground conduit
construction and related standards. We recommend that all
requirements set forth in the City of Coppell Subdivision Ordinance
- Appendix A, Page 29, Section 9 be complied with (see attached) as
well as all related items.
The inquiry related to the possibility of the compaction equipment
being used, damaging the installed underground conduit, staff
recommends the use of the proper compaction equipment designed for
the specific task and reasonable care be taken not to cause damage
to the installed conduit.

The field compaction report dated 1/29/91 from Gee-Technique, Inc.
on Line A Storm Sewer indicates an unacceptable percentage of
compaction and should be corrected to specification requirements.
If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
