What question or concern is on your mind?
Question: What is the status of Sandy Lake Road west of
Denton Tap? Why has it taken so long to widen this road when
we passed the money to do so many years ago? Other roads
seem to be getting widened or repaired with no problems.
Answer: Funds for the road improvements were approved in a
1999 bond election, and the project was engineered in 2005. But
property value disputes with owners of land needed for right -of-
way, plus federal criteria tied to a portion of the roadwork fund-
ing, have delayed the improvements, according to Keith Marvin,
City project engineer.
Marvin said the property negotiations and necessary paper-
work should be finalized in about 30 days for the Denton Tap to
