Dear Mr. Goodman:
At your request, I visually inspected the modifications to the existing retaining wall located on the south
side of Bethel Road on October 26, 2010. The reinforcing steel appears to be placed properly with one
exception. The tall "L" shaped #5 bars @ 7'/2 had been placed at 12" o.c. Your personnel had already
seen this and had changed most of these bars to the proper spacing. The remainder of these bars must be
spaced properly before placement of the concrete.
The expansion joint material placed in the footing should also be extended up through the stem of the
modifications. (See attached photo.)
The remainder of the steel reinforcing meets the requirements of our modification drawings.
