Freese & Nichols, Inc. 214-217-2282   From: Dean Dumke [mailto:deand@JRJPaving.com] Sent: Monday, November 15, 2010 2:01 PM To: Keith Marvin; Caleb Thornhill Cc: Kim Entrekin; Marty Murphy Subject: Bethel Rd - Metel Beam Guard Rail Submittal   Keith,   Attached are the TXDOT specifications for the guard rail specified for this project.  Is it required to have the specified guard rail on all four (4) corners of the bridge or on the opposite end to the bridge, in the direction of traffic flow would a certain distance with a turn-down be sufficient.  Also, there are several items that seem to come into conflict at the designated areas and are noted as follows:   1) N/E side: 11' from the end point is a manhole that will be covered. 39' away is a high     voltage box. 2) S/E side: 28' from end point is a utility pole. 3) N/W side: 44' from the end point is an electrical box. 4) S/W side: 3' from the end point is a fire hydrant.   Some, if not all of the issues will have to be addressed prior to installation and will need a revised sheet if the distances change from what is on the current plan.   Also, we will be pouring the end columns either Thursday or Friday this week and would like to see if the METAL BEAM GUARD FENCE TRANSITION (TL2) is the correct connection you want at the bridge so that the bolt pattern can be accounted for with the pour instead of having to core the holes at a later date.  If you can review and get me the “okay to proceed” on this one item, I can have my guard rail installer get with North Texas Bridge, ASAP, in regards to the 4 locations and a template for the bolt pattern.   Thank you,   Dean Dumke Sr Project Manager #469-223-7879 JRJ PAVING, L.
