Keith,
I just received a call from our landscape architect Harold Leidner and he told me that his superintendent for our
project was informed today that the road contractor wants to lay sod in the city right of way and on my lot frontage
this coming Monday. This raises a few issues that I would like to discuss with you as soon as possible. Here are a
few that come top of mind:
First, we are getting pretty short notice to get all of our lawn sprinklers installed prior to Monday. As of today, there
is still heavy equipment in the area and the grading has not been completed. It is doable per Leidner but it will be
an effort and at a cost.
Second, we need to come to an understanding as to what is considered the disturbed area to be sodded. I am not
sure what the road contractor has in mind as the areas affected, but we may have differing opinions.
Third, I just want to make sure the grading is all done the way it should be and that the sod bed is prepared
properly.
Fourth, we need to make sure that the variety of grass for the sod is what we planned for our property. I’ll give you
the specific variety in the morning once I hear back from Leidner but I can tell you that it is not going to be
common Bermuda.
Anyway, I am sure we can work all this out but maybe we should meet in the morning on site (maybe just you and
me initially without the contractor?) to discuss these items and the process.
Finally on a related but separate note, I thought of something this afternoon that we need to address as well. The
driveway poured in the city right of way running to my front property line does not have a turn around. The way it
is now, a vehicle approaching our gate and not passing through will have to back out onto Bethel road to exit
which of course is not safe. I didn’t think of it before now, but I do think we need to discuss.
Anyway, please let me know when we can get together and address these items. Thanks.
