Keith,
As I understand it, the contractor intends to preserve and protect the mailboxes as they are. In the event they are unable
to do that, they have a mason that will repair or replace them as required.

Good morning.
I wanted to follow up on a few items from our meeting on August 26th.
First and foremost, thank you for your patience and cooperation through
this project. As you know, construction is well underway. As of right
now, the underground sewer work is complete, and the water main is going
in. Conatser anticipates completing the water main and services by next
Wednesday. You may experience a water interruption as part of the tie
in for the new main and services. Look for more information from
Conatser for exact dates and time of this service interruption.
Beginning next Thursday the street will be removed in preparation for
replacement. They will begin by removing half the paving between the
existing brick pavers at Sandy Lake and the median where the well house
is. We will then have our emergency services folks test the material
under the paving to see if it will support their fire apparatus. If we
(8/17/2011) Keith Marvin - RE: Dobecka DrivePage 2
are all in agreement that they can remove all the paving, we will allow
them to proceed in that fashion, if not, they will remove only half the
paving at a time. In either case, the concrete street will be placed
back half at a time, and the street will remain passable for the
duration of the project.
As for the two specific questions that came up at the meeting, we have
moved the fire hydrant that was to be placed in front of 122 Dobecka to
the island in the middle of the cul-de-sac. Second, I have discussed
the maintenance of this island with our parks department, and they are
agreeable to taking over the maintenance of this area. We will be
placing a water meter on the service to this island, and establishing a
service in the name of the city.
It has been brought to my attention by our parks operations folks that
the oak tree on the west side of this island is dying, and they are
recommending that it be taken down before it comes down in a storm and
causes damage. If there is no objection, we will have this tree taken
down as part of the project.
The median closer to Sandy Lake with the well house is a different
matter. This is actually a platted lot owned by the Dobecka's, and as
such the city is unable to either remove the well house, or provide
ongoing maintenance on this lot.
Feel free to call me with any questions.
