Please let Keith at the city know if you want the lead walk under these conditions. If you copy me I
will follow up with Keith next week to make sure all is in order. Thanks, Tim.

Tim,
Per our discussion, I have confirmed that the contractor intends to stamp all the lead
walks currently shown on the plans. The following addresses currently do not show a
lead walk on our plans: 96, 100, 101, 102, 105, 109, and 110(I think they actually do
have one, in which case we would replace it anyway).
If these owners would like us to add a lead walk between the city walk and the curb in
order to safely access their mailbox, we would add that as a project expense. This walk
would not necessarily line up with the walk leading from their house, and may require
displacing some of their landscaping. I believe the contractor would be willing to add the
stamp to these walks as well.
Please let me know how we should proceed. Albert or I would be happy to meet out there
to provide any additional clarification needed.
Thanks,
Keith

Tim,
After considerable discussion this morning, we have decided that placing the "Texas
Stamp" in the city sidewalk would likely place us in violation of the ADA. The
indentations created by the stamp would be felt as a "detectable warning" by visually
impaired pedestrians, and as such could open the city to liability.
We are still willing to place the stamp in the "lead walks" that connect from the sidewalk
to the curb adjacent to the mailboxes. There are 7 homes out there that do not have
a "lead walk". To add a lead walk with the stamp it would cost about $60 per
location. These could be added next to the mailboxes of these 7 homes.
