It appears as if thee is a math error. The attached cost breakdown for that
work is $3,417.66 and not $5,417.56. I will have the girl revise and
resubmit.

Gentlemen,
I received a fax today with a cost proposal for the change from an 8"
parabolic crown to a 6" parabolic crown. Your proposal of $5,417.56 is
considerably higher than what I was expecting. This works out to
approximately $80 per cubic yard of material removed.
The city would entertain a cost in the $2,000 range. Please review this
item and let me know what revision you are able to make. Rick and I are
available to meet next week if we need to discuss this item in greater
detail.
