City of Coppell 255 Park Blvd. Coppell, Texas 75019 Re: Park Blvd. Paving Improvements West of Alex Drive Dear Mr. Doyle: At your instructions, we have enclosed proposals for engineering services and a summary of probable costs to improve Park Blvd west of Alex Drive. Based on recent unit costs, we estimate that the construction cost will be approximately $138,000; however, in the current economic environment the cost could range as Iow as $100,000.00. We have reviewed plans prepared for this improvement by Threadgill and Dowdy Consulting Engineers. We suggest that the plans be updated for the following reasons: 1. It "is evident from existing cuts that the original cross-sections have been disturbed. 2. Existing benchmarks are located one-half mile from the site and are likely to have been disturbed during the last six years. 3. Existing pavement needs verification to confirm compliance with existing plan stationing and elevation. We suggest completion of this work in two possible phases. Phase A would include: 1. Updating existing plans in sufficient detail for staking and confirmation of quantities. 2. Confirming that the plans are consistent with the City's specifications. This would allow the updated plans to be incorporated by change order into your Denton Tap improvement currently under construction. Phase B be would provide that our firm be contracted for completion of contract documents, bidding, staking and construction admin- istration. Mr. Russell Doyle, P.E.
