Dear Sir or Madam:
The City of Coppell will soon begin the installation of a new 24" water main along Sandy Lake Road, starting at
Denton Tap Road and ending at the new elevated water tank currently under construction at Wagon Wheel Ranch
(see the attached schematic). Generally, construction activities associated with this project will be contained within
the City right-of-way on the north and south sides of Sandy Lake Road. However, minor disruptions will be
inevitable for short periods of time as the water line is installed. The City will do everything possible to minimize
any inconvenience and appreciates your cooperation as we work to improve service to the citizens of Coppell.
Some of the questions you may have regarding this project are presented below with brief answers:
· Q: What is being installed?
A: A 24" water main is being constructed along Sandy Lake Road.
Q: Why does Coppell need the new water main ?
A: The City of Coppell has adequate water pressure during the majority of the year. However, the hot
summer and spring months bring increased consumption and lower water pressure, particularly on the
west side of town. The new elevated tank will provide added water storage and higher pressure. The
primary purpose of the new water main will be to supply water to the new tank.
· Q: When will the project be completed?
A: The anticipated completion date for the new water line is ea~y Summer 1999.
Q.' How will my daily life be affected by the construction activities?
A: The City intends to minimize the impact of construction activities on its citizens. However, minor
disruptions in traffic flow may be experienced as driveways and street approaches are traversed. In
addition, short disruptions in water service may be necessary as the line is put into service. Any
disruption in water service will be preceded with separate notices to citizens.

In summary, the City of Coppell is constructing a new 24' water main along Sandy Lake Road. The main
