TxDOT will be utilizing two separate contractors to complete the paving work and traffic signal installation at
this interchange.
The Traffic Signal construction is scheduled to begin the week of March 21 and should be completed within 6
weeks. Traffic signals will be constructed on Royal lane at both access roads to IH 635. The date the traffic
signal will become fully operational will be coordinated with the paving work.
The paving work should commence by April 1st and last 8 weeks. This work will include a right turn bay
northbound Royal Lane in advance of the IH 635 East entrance ramp, and widening between the two IH 635
access roads to allow left turn bays both northbound and southbound. In addition, the median opening on
Royal Lane will be closed on the north side of the interchange opposite Gateway Drive in order to allow the
interchange to be signalized.
In a separate but coordinated concurrent effort, a left turn bay will be built northbound Royal Lane just north of
Gateway to allow traffic from Gateway to uturn at the Park and Fly median opening to proceed southbound on
Royal and/or access IH 635.
