Parkway Boulavard~and High School Access Road;
Coppell, Texas
Dear Ms. White:
On Friday, April 21, 1989, I visited the site to review utility
construction currently underway by L. H. Lacy Company. This date
was the twelveth day following start of construction.
From a visual review and discussions with the city inspector and
contractor, sanitary sewer construction to be provided under this
contract is approximately 80% complete. Newly 'constructed
manholes were evident. A contractor's representative et the site
indicated that a sanitary sewer service line extending north
under Parkway Boulevard from a manhole near Paving Station 59+23
had not yet been constructed.
At the time of my visit, the contractor was preparing to proceed
with construction of proposed water line improvements. The 8-
inch water line constructed by the High School contractor to the
east property of the high school had been uncovered. The water
main to be constructed under this contract will ~onnect to the
existing main in Denton Tap Road and provide a primary source of
water to the High School.
Water line fittings and pipe to be Installed under this contract
were evident on the site.
Another important step in providing water to the High School was
underway during my visit. The city's contractor reported that
construction of the water line bore under Denton Tap Road was
nearing completion. Since the existing water main in Denton Tap
Road is on the east side of the Right-of-Way, this bore is
necessary to provide a water main to the west side of Denton Tap
which can be extended west in Parkway Boulevard toward the new
High School. The bore is being provided through an escrow
agreement previously executed between the City and ABQ
Development Corporation.

In general, L. H. Lacy seems to be making excellent progress and
is approaching the project with the goal of getting the access to
the High School from Denton Tap Road in operation as soon as
possible.
The City of Coppell has recently approved a change order to add
the construction of' the Parkway Boulevard West turnout from
Denton Tap Road to the Denton Tap Road Improvement Pro~ect. This
latter project is also being constructed by L. H. Lacy CompanY.
The turnout primarily consists of the roadway surface from the
westerly curb of Denton Tap Road to the west end of the curves in
the street curbs leading around to Parkway Boulevard West. This
turnout will link roadway construction performed under YoUr
contract to Denton Tap Road.
L. H. Lacy has received our request to add a two-inch meter
setter on the irrigation service line in Parkway Boulevard. They
have provided me a cost of $410.00 to install this equipment.
L. H. Lacy has also received our request to add 2 - 2-inch P.V.C.
pipes under Parkway Boulevard at Paving Station 57+00. Each of
these pipes will be 85 feet long for a total addition of 170 feet
of two-inch P.V.C. conduit. Unit price is $2.00/linear foot.
Total cost for additional 2-inch pipe is $340.00.
! have authorized L. H. Lacy to proceed with construction of both
the meter setter and the, additional two-inch conduit. These
facilities were required by the City after the plans were sent
out for bid.
Water main construction should be completed
week depending on weather. This will be
drainage construction. Hopefully paving
