II through VI, would be the City's responsibility. These are the phases that provide access
and parking for the Coppell Baseball Association and the Coppeil Football Association.
The material to be used is rejuvenated asphalt. Rejuvenated asphalt is reclaimed asphalt
rolled in place with an asphalt rejuvenating agent applied to bond the asphalt. This
material is a lower grade of asphalt than used on the Andrew Brown West parking lot.
The material has been used successfully by Dallas County on a parking facility in downtown
Dallas across from the Frank CrowIcy Justice Center. That parking lot has been in place
for 3 years and is in relatively good condition.
Dallas County can perform the work on their off days which are Friday, Saturday and
possibly Sunday, barring any bad weather. The paving job will take approximately 12
working days, which equates to approximately six weekends.
Staff recommends the approval of the City/County agreement in the amount of $62,787.45
and authorizing the Mayor to sign.
