RE: Coppeil Middle School West parking lot
Dear Mr. F.~7.bois:
Attached is a cost estimate from Dallas County Road and Bridge Division for the proposed
rejuvenated asphalt paving for the existing bus parking lot at the Coppell Middle School
West. This estimate includes the additional rap material to stabilize the base of the parking
lot and the cost to apply the surfacing material.
Listed below are three issues that need to be addressed prior to Dallas County beginning
work on the parking lot:
1)
2)
3)
The proposed additional material to stabilize the bus parking lot will raise the
parking lot approximately 6 inches. This could cause some drainage problems unless
steps are taken to correct the drainage. I will be glad to walk the site with you to
determine a solution.
The temporary relocation of school buses and the work shed needs to be discussed.
If the shed cannot be moved please let me know.
Consideration needs to be given to the removal of the existing security fence and
replacing it after the completion of the work on the parFAng lot. This was suggested
by Mike Sharp, with Dallas County,' to ensure that the whole parking lot could be
stabilized and paved. If this c~nnot be done please let me know.
I will be glad to set up a meeting with Mike Sharp, Dallas County Supervisor Precinct
No.l, to walk the site and discuss these issues. Please contact me at (972) 304-3681 if you
have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Martin, E.I.T.
