Do you know the actual limits of the section of SH 121 this refers to? There may be some interest in the section that goes from Northpoint Drive up to Denton Creek. This is about 9,000 linear feet. Based on the information provided, it seems that the 9,000 linear feet would cost about $13,465 per year (9000/5280 * $7,900 = $13,465). If we shared that cost with Grapevine, then our yearly financial obligation would be about $6,735. If my approach to the question is correct, let me know and I can present this issue to the Council to determine if they are willing to fund a portion of the ongoing maintenance and electric cost. If you have any questions, let me know. Ken Griffin, P. TxDOT will fund the construction of the lights, but the local cities must assume the maintenance and electricity costs. If we go with anything, it would be the 40' Median Mounted Lights because we could do the maintenance in house with our existing bucket trucks and other equipment. The question is would Coppell be willing to spilt the cost. However, Melanie Young stated that you now support the 150' poles. Why the change? 2) There was previously discussions that Grapevine would perform the maintenance and Coppell would pay the electric costs. With the change to the 150' lights can Grapevine still maintain them? Also, the 150' lights doubles the yearly electric cost to Coppell. With the change, e and electricity 50- S pmaintain the lights and that Grapevine and Coppell would split the total cost of the mamt nanc Let me know so I can proceed with my agenda item. Thanks Ken Griffin »> "Stan Laster" <Stanl @grapevinetexas.gov> 4/2/2010 11:56 AM »> Ken, We got a letter from Melanie Young with TxDOT in early March that indicated a copy of one to you as well. The copy we got of your letter was an original so I wanted to make sure you received the letter in some form. I have scanned it in case you need it. Have you had any discussions with your CM or Council on this cost? We have not at this time. Stan
