Dear Owner or Business:
The reconstruction of Belt Line Road, Denton Tap Road & Southwestern Blvd. intersection
will begin on June 6, 2011. On May 10, 2011, the City Council awarded the construction
contract to Jim Bowman Construction, Inc.
The project will consist of the removal of the brick pavers & concrete below the pavers and
replacement with standard concrete as well as stamped concrete crosswalks and a
decorative detail in the center of the intersection. This project will improve the safety, ride
quality and the appearance of the intersection. The final design will mimic the design at
Denton Tap Road & Sandy Lake Road intersection. The construction process will also be
similar in nature. The contractor will have a variable incentive /disincentive tied to the
closure of Southwestern Blvd. & E. Belt Line Road (max. 30 calendar days without
penalty). Like all construction projects, the actual timeline can be affected by weather and
other unknown incidents that may occur.
