NOTES:
This meeting was held to make decisions necessary to allow Schrickel, Rollins
and Associates, Inc., to pursue the preliminary engineering phase of the Belt
Line Road project. The following subjects were discussed:
RIGHT-OF-WAY
Jerry Bevel said that right-of-way commitments have been made from Royal Lane
to Regent (formerly Gentry). This R.O.W. is offset from the existing centerline,
with the west side having 80 feet and the east side 60 feet. Jerry said he
would provide S,R&A with plans on Regent. The project south of Hwy. 114 will
have a 120 foot R.O.W. and north of Hwy. 114 the R.O.W. width will be 140
feet.
IH 635 BRIDGE
Kevin Peiffer noted that the centerline of Belt Line north of IH 635 is offset
from the centerline of the existing bridge approximately 10 feet to the east.
He indicated that his design is flexible in the vicinity of the bridge and
that the roadway centerline could be shifted if necessary. S,R&A was instructed
by Sonny Loper to check the vertical and horizontal clearance on the structure
and determine the following:
1)
2)
3)
Can the structure be expanded
If so, in which direction
a. Both east and west
b. East only
c. West only
If not, plan on locating new bridge approximately 10 feet
to the west of the existing bridge
S,R&A will visit with Van McElroy of SDHPT to determine structure clearances.
Jerry Bevel said that Irving would like to see bridge widened to the west,
but it could live with expansion to either side. If additional R.O.W. is
necessary to the east on the north side of the bridge, Irving will be able
to obtain the land.
SH 114 BRIDGE
This bridge will be designed with sidewalks on both sides, as requested by
TYPICAL SECTION
The Federal Highway Administration guidelines will be followed for the typical
section. The sections were discussed by all parties involved and the dimensions
agreed upon are included in Exhibit "A". The full section shall be carried
all the way to the south limits of the project, without any transition.
PROJECT SCHEMATIC
Jerry Bevel presented his comments in the project schematic. These changes
will be made by S,R&A and sent to the City of Irving and the SDHPT to see
if all the revisions are accurately depicted. The traffic engineering section
of SDHPT (Wade) will review the schematic at that time and make comments.
Jerry Bevel did not know the curb return radii for the intersecting streets
but indicated he would forward that information to S,R&A in a few days. The
full section is to extend to the south limits of the project instead of
transitioning to existing section.
