It is anticipated that the work could begin within two weeks after Council approval. The turn lane
improvements at both intersections will take about three weeks and the signal light improvements
will take about three to four weeks to complete.
It is Staffs opinion that the intersection improvements are a high priority due to the, at times,
unbearable traffic congestion caused by the intersections. Therefore, staff recommends that
$10,568.00 from unallocated interest be utilized to construct the intersection improvements at Belt
Line/MacArthur and at Sandy Lake/MacArthur.
Staff will be available to answer any questions concerning this issue at the City Council meeting.

proclaiming ~Red Ribbon Week~ from October 24 through November 1, 1992, and authorizing
the Mayor to sign. Councilman Mayo seconded the motion. The motion carried 7-0 with Mayor
Pro Tern Smotherrnon and Councilmen Weaver, Thomas, Morton, Mayo, Robertson, and
Garrison voting in favor of the motion.

~Pharmacy Week~ in the City of Coppell, and authorize the Mayor to sign - requested by Mayor
Mark Wolfe. Mayor Pro Tern Smothermon seconded the motion. The motion carried 7-0 with
Mayor Pro Tern Smothermon and Councilmen Weaver, Thomas, Morton, Mayo, Robertson, and
Garrison voting in favor of the motion.
16. Consider approval of a Resolution supporting HB 791 establishing and maintaining a
statewide poison control network for the purpose of reducing incidence, severity and cost
of poisoning; providing informational services to health care professionals; and
maximizing available resources and encouraging the State Legislature to fund the
provisions of this same bill and authorizing the Mayor to sign.

The Council expressed appreciation for the City Engineering I)epartment's fast response to the

to the MacArthur/Beltline and MacArthur/Sandy Lake intersections, in the amount of
$10,568.00. Councilman Morton seconded the motion. The motion carded 7-0 with Mayor Pro
Tern Smothermon and Councilmen Weaver, Thomas, Morton, Mayo, Robertson, and Garrison
voting in favor of the motion.
18. Consideration for approval of an amendment to Ordinance #308, Article 6-8 of Chapter
6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, regarding the permitting of multiple,
separate facilities within a single building or structure and authorizing the Mayor to sign.
