MEMORANDUM
TO:
Jennifer Armstrong, Finance Director
FROM:
Paula Crocker, Admin. Support
VIA:
Ken Griffin, P.E., Director of Engineering/Public Works
DATE: September 30, 2005
REF: Goodyear Tire Store at 825 South MacArthur Blvd.
September 1, 2005, the manager of the Goodyear Tire Store, at 825 South MacArthur Blvd.,
called to report a contractor using the private fire hydrant behind his store. It was discovered that
Rodman Excavation, Inc. was connecting their temporary construction meter to that private fire
hydrant for use on the Billingsley development behind the Goodyear Tire Store. The contractor
was contacted and the meter was removed from the private line.
September 30, 2005, Chuck, manager of Goodyear, called to report that he received his bill for
water used on the fire hydrant line, and what was usually a minimum $12.00 bill was
approximately $750.00. I talked with Kay Johnson in Utility Billing and she verified that
Goodyear's typically bill on this meter was the minimum $12.00.
Therefore, at this time I am requesting that the cost for the water used on this private fire hydrant
line be deducted from Goodyear's account. The use of the water will be paid by Rodman
Excavation, Inc. when Rodman's meter is read and billed.
If you have any questions please let me know.
