RE: Unauthorized discharge into the City's sanitary sewer system
at 215 Meadow Run Cir.
Dear Mr. Settle:
You may recall that on October 4, 1996, the City provided you with a letter indicating that
smoke testing of your neighborhood revealed an unauthorized inflow from your property to
the City's sewer system. We spoke on October 8, 1996 on this issue following your receipt of
the letter. This area has been retested to determine if the problem has been corrected. The
resmoke testing of the area revealed that the ground drain on the south side of the house, the
downspout on the south side of the house and the curb outlet are still tied into the City's
sanitary sewer system. Please be advised that these connections are not allowed by the City of
Coppell.
Previously a copy of the City's Code of Ordinance was provided that specifically points to the
fact that roof drains are not allowed to be connected into the City's sanitary sewer system.
The City has been very patient in allowing you time to correct the unauthorized connections.
Our goal is always to eliminate the problem. The City respectfully requests that the
connections be eliminated as soon as possible. The City also requests that this office be
contacted within fourteen days from the date of this letter to provide a timeline of when the
connection will be removed from the City's sanitary sewer system.
Thank you for your consideration of this request and if you should have any additional
questions please feel free to contact me at (972) 304-3679.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
