Talking to our technical experts here, we are going to want 2010 counts or better. They are cheap to get and
we want the most current data especially with all the new projects you’ve had come on line in the last couple
of years.

I quickly ran through the proposed count areas and looked at that NCTCOG website and gathered the attached
data. Please note the irregular info on the divided count data. It is quite weird that both N/S directions are the
same number. A few of the counts are from 2005 and we may want to gather those.

I am also trying to gather the data from the TxDOT, Saturation Count Program in 2009 which included many
streets within Coppell. There are counts available on the following website
http://www.nctcog.org/trans/data/trafficcounts/ . I am trying to gather this data in tabular form for easier use.

Based on the information you’ve provided and your recent traffic count data, we are proposing the attached
locations for counts. I talked to Jessica about the schedule, and we are proposing to wait to do the counts until
the second week of September. This will allow us to perform the counts with school in session and still meet
our project schedule. Let me know if you have any concerns about the schedule or the proposed locations.

1) Denton Tap & Natches Trace
2) Sandy Lake & Royal Ln
3) Sandy Lake & Freeport
4) Sandy Lake & N. Coppell Rd.
5) E. Belt Line & Moore Rd.
6) E. Belt Line & Mockingbird Ln.
7) Bethel Rd. & Freeport
8) Bethel Rd. & Royal
FYI, we see a large change in traffic patterns during the summer months due to school being out of session.
