I thought we might want to change the heading but could not think of a good one... Thank You, George Brick Paver Replacement Denton Tap/Belt Line Intersection To Temporarily Close The City's Engineering Department is preparing for reconstruction of the intersection of Belt Line and Denton Tap Roads. This project will include the replacement of the intersection’s brick pavers with stamped concrete pavement. Anticipated start date is on or around June 6. In order to perform this work, the contractor will need to temporarily close various lanes of traffic. One lane of traffic will be allowed northbound and southbound on Denton Tap Road/S. Belt Line Road at all times. Southwestern Blvd. will be closed from its intersection with Denton Tap/Belt Line to a point just east of its intersection with Bullock Street. E. Belt Line Road will be closed from its intersection with Denton Tap/Belt Line to the east, approximately 100 feet, where the median will be cut to allow traffic to make a u-turn. Vehicles traveling southbound on Denton Tap seeking access to E. Belt Line will be detoured south, through the intersection and east, through a temporary traffic signal, on Sanders Loop up to E. Belt Line Road. Vehicles traveling southbound on Denton Tap seeking access to Southwestern Blvd. will be able to turn west onto the old, one-way, section of Southwestern, just south of Dairy Queen. Vehicles traveling northbound on S. Belt Line Road seeking access to E. Belt Line Road will be detoured at Sanders Loop and up to E. Belt Line Rd. Vehicles traveling northbound on S. Belt Line Road, seeking access to Southwestern Blvd. will be detoured at Airline Drive. Vehicles traveling westbound on E. Belt Line will be detoured south on Sanders Loop. Vehicles traveling from the west seeking access to Denton Tap or S. Belt Line should use Bethel Road or Airline Drive. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during construction. Once the road closure begins, the contractor will have 30 calendar days to re-establish all lanes of traffic through the intersection and will receive an incentive/disincentive bonus based on this time. Drivers will soon see message boards and signage along Denton Tap and Belt Line Roads informing the traveling public about the scheduled closure. Please note that Texas Transportation Code states the following: Sec. 545.423. CROSSING PROPERTY. (a) An operator may not cross a sidewalk or drive through a driveway, parking lot, or business or residential entrance without stopping the vehicle. (b) An operator may not cross or drive in or on a sidewalk, driveway, parking lot, or business or residential entrance at an intersection to turn right or left from one highway to another highway. For the safety of the people and vehicles in the businesses at this intersection, motorists should not cut through parking lots to gain access to Denton Tap Rd. The Coppell Police Department will monitor this area and enforce the law. N Denton Tap Rd. Bethel Rd. S. Coppell Rd. Road Queen Dairy Closed E. Belt Line Rd.
