We have checked the bids received on Tuesday, October 27, 1998 for the construction of Sandy Lake Road
Water Line project (Project Number WA-96-01 A, Bid Number Q 1098-01 ). We are enclosing both a summary
of the bids received along with an itemized tabulation of the bids.
Fox Contractors, Inc., of Midlothian, Texas submitted the low bid in the amount of $912,243.50. We have
worked with this contractor in other Cities and are familiar ~vith their experience and qualifications. They
have successfully completed similar projects for us in the Cities of Cedar Hill, Desoto, Waxahachie, and for
the North Texas Municipal Water District. Nonetheless, we have re-reviewed their experience record, jobs in
progress, equipment list and financial standing. We are enclosing copies of the data submitted to our office by
the contractor for this purpose. It is our opinion Fox Contractors, Inc., has the equipment, experience and
financial capability to properly pursue a project of this type.
Accordingly, we recommend that the City of Coppell accept the bid of Fox Contractors, Inc., of Midlothian,
Texas, in the amount of $912,243.50 and award a contract in amount for the construction of the Sandy Lake
Road Water Line project.
