Parker Dr-CS070906 (7/26/2011) Rhonda Adloo - Fwd: Re: Trees in creekPage 1 From: Rhonda Adloo To:Ken Griffin Date: 9/6/2007 12:16 PM Subject: Fwd: Re: Trees in creek Do you want to consider adding funding onto the contract for tree removal to get the additional places that have been brought to Per's attention? >>> Per Birdsall 9/6/2007 12:10 PM >>> This is the second contact that I am aware of concerning trees in areas that have been worked. The problem which the contractor brought up before was the elevation of the water. The water is now receding and exposing the branches, trunks and debris that was previously well submerged. My other contact was quite complementary of the work that was done but simply wanted to make us aware of the now exposed branches. I am sure Jim did get everything he could at the time with the conditions as they were. What ever happened to our drought? If the contractor has not been released, we could make them go back and finish up however the full scope of work needed was not visible during my site inspections or at the time of their initial site inspection for the locations along Denton Creek. Considering the bid, that was quite low in my opinion, the contractor may reasonably request additional funding (add it on to the contract). Per >>> Rhonda Adloo 9/5/2007 1:51 PM >>> Per, I contacted this resident based on her online request through C2 (see below). Do you think we should add this to the contract already being worked on? Site #3 (next door to this lady) has been completed according to Jim at World Class Trees. It sounds like it just made the neighbor's problem worse, can you go look at it? >>> Emily Phillips <rephillips2@verizon.net> 9/5/2007 1:27 PM >>> A few weeks ago (middle of August) someone did come and cut parts of the tree and hauled them away. However, much of the trees are still there. One big one is now stuck on my property. It is sticking out of the water now and as the creek goes back down to a more normal level is will just be laid up on my property. Most of the trees behind 921 are covered in water for the moment. However, when the creek level went down a week ago it looked terrible! I am also worried about how much of the bank across the creek has washed away. I hope that it does not cause more trees on the other side to fall. If you want more information from me my number is 972-745-2509. Feel free to come into my backyard and look for yourself. A really good time to come is when the water receeds a little bit. That is when you can see the real damage that has been done. At the same time, if you come now while the water is still high, you can see how much of the trees are still sticking up out of the water. Back in May his tree fell over into the creek. Since then many other trees have made a mini dam and when the water receeded a week ago we noticed much of the bank on the other side worn away from the water having to go around the trees and the litter that collected. The water is now back up higher and one tree has moved into my yard. I DO NOT want to be responsible for this. Please let me know what will be done. I was told in June that the city was going to send someone out to take care of it. The Core of Engineers was looking into it. I do not remember the name or number of the man I spoke with."
