Consulting Engineer's Contract
Modification to the Scope of Services
1. Scope of Work
TNP shall provide professional civil engineering services, as outlined below, for completing
the preparation of design plans for the Vilest Sandy Lake Road reconstruction project. This
modification is for additional services associated with the existing contract. For the portion of
roadway between North Coppell Road and South Coppell Road (also referred to as Phase
2A), the construction plans will no longer need to accommodate TxDOT design standards,
and shall be revised to meet the City of Coppell design standards. Previous and ongoing
work being done under this existing contract will be utilized to the fullest extent possible,
including agreed upon preliminary horizontal and vertical designs, meeting decisions, and
construction specifications. The following are anticipated changes to the scope of work:
• Extension of time frame for completion of design and construction administration in 2012.
• Additional meetings and correspondence with City representatives.
• Plan modifications to reflect City standards, such as: sheet setup, plan set layout„ typical
sections, standard details, bridge railing design /details, construction quantities,
• Update construction plans to reflect recent tree removals in project corridor, and adjust
design in specified locations regarding retaining walls to save trees.
• Revise intersection layout of South Coppell Road.
• Include adjustments to existing water lines.
ll. Project Schedule
The work will generally proceed in conjunction with the remaining schedule for the West
Sandy Lake Road project, as determined jointly by the City and TNP. It is anticipated that this
phase will bid for construction in early 2012.
Ill. Compensation
The Engineer shall be paid an additional lump sum fee for the above described Additional
Scope of Services in an amount of Seventy Thousand, and no/100 Dollars ($70,000). This
amount includes the foliowing increases:
