We're not proposing to build a drainage system are we? I thought we were trying to re-grade an earthen channel to eliminate standing water that represents a health hazzard. Keith >>> Per Birdsall 11/19/2010 10:21 AM >>> This is the most recent document concerning the drainage off of Tower 2 that we discussed yesterday. Per >>> "Shannon Gray" <SGray@dart.org> 11/19/2010 9:34 AM >>> Good morning Mr. Birdsall. It was a pleasure to meet with you yesterday at the City of Coppell water tower facility. Per our meeting, the City will need to complete and submit the attached DART Standard Application and Design Standards Checklist, along with an engineering drawing for each of the two (2) Type A Headwalls and proposed drainage grading. I've also attached Chapter 7, Drainage section from the DART Design Criteria Manual and a list of items that must be displayed on each drawing. Upon receipt of your information, I will forward it to DART Engineering for review and approval. This process takes approximately 4- 5 weeks. As you mentioned, the Site Plan for the City property located east of the water tower may incorporate the second headwall. If confirmed, please forward it to me as well. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Shannon D. Gray Right of Way Representative Commuter Rail & Railroad Management Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) 400 S. The work we need to do will probably take two days to finish with only a couple of hours the first day that will involve equipment. The rest will be hand work. The current plan is to add a small amount of concrete on grade that will extend the headwall/flume and stabilize erosion that is occurring. I would like to avoid a lot of extra expense if possible and can therefore work on a schedule of your choosing to perform the work when trains are not using the rail. The flapper mentioned below is located at the property line and there will not be any reason to be close to the rails at any time. Please let me know how we can proceed. Crossing. The need was brought to our attention from a site inspection of our water tower. TNRCC regulations require there to be positive flow from the water tower dump flapper. There is water standing at the headwall now. The work will involve at least 80 feet of ditch that runs parallel to the tracks from the headwall at the water tower east approximately 80 feet. We would like to use a small rubber track hoe to skim off the high spots. The depth of material to be removed is only approximately 10 inches at it's deepest point. I am also aware of the HP Gas Line in the vicinity and I am in process of contacting them also. Let me know how we need to proceed.
