Luis,
I apologize for not getting back with you sooner, I've been on vacation for the last week or so. I have gotten responses
from both the engineer and the contractor. The engineer has proposed an additional fee of $6,000 for the design of the
combination retaining wall and screening wall. The contractor has provided a cost proposal of $37,000 for this wall. We
would realize a savings of $17,000 under the contract for not building the retaining wall/rail, resulting in a net change of
$20,000.
This change would result in a cost of approximately $26,000. If this is something you want to pursue, we will need to work
out some sort of comprehensive agreement to take to City Council for approval. Give me a call when you have a chance
and we can discuss it.
