RFI 024 Site Sod and Curlex Installation.xlsx
Keith & Caleb,
Please see attached RFI 024 regard the Site Sod and Curlex installation
on this project. There seems to be a discrepancy with what was
calculated on the initial plan "estimate of the necessary quantity"
versus what is actually used on the project.
JRJ is in the process of getting verification for the areas in which the
sod and curlex were installed. Once these measurements have been
received, a copy of the areas will be given to the COCoppell for payment
for sod and curlex installed on this project.
The project has 1845 linear feet of construction area, not including the
intersection area.
For example, if 1845 is taken and 10 foot of sod was installed on each
side of roadway, the calculation comes to 4100 square yards, which blows
the initial estimate of 2225 square yards out of the water.
There are very few areas on this project in which sod or curlex was
installed that was due to going outside job limits. I can assure you
that with Larry Davis on site, me, the HOA Presidents and their
respected subdivisions, Luis Parjes and Phil Berkebile, we did not go
over our limits and if we did the area was minimal. JRJ and their
subcontractors, along with the COCoppell and Freese & Nichols have
provided a great looking product/job that we have all been complimented
on by the Bethel Rd residents.
As we always have done, JRJ will work on quantifying these areas and
will get with you to go over once we do. Until we do so, I will only
submit the bid quantity.
Thank you,
Dean Dumke

Dean,
I received your voice mail about sod quantity. Sod is one of those
items that is specifically listed as a "Plans Quantity Item". Plans
quantity items are paid at the amount listed in the bid schedule. This
is essentially a lump sum item where the engineer has given you his
estimate of the necessary quantity.
