Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681 >>> Keith Marvin 4/3/2008 8:46 AM >>> Dennis, we appreciate your willingness to meet with us. I am attaching the plans as PDF files to this email. The Villages of Coppell was a subdivision built prior to the two Halff designed on the south side of Deforest Road. The only question there is whether there was a determination made that the DA shown in those plans was somehow bypassing the drainage system designed by Halff within Deforest Road. The question we have relative to the Windsor Estates and Deforest Court plans is what caused the change in the water surface elevation at the outfall between the Windsor Estates design and the Deforest Court design. We would also like to get a copy of your design calculations for the detention pond so we can evaluate what happens if we put more runoff into the pond. If you are able to recall any of these details, or if you can retrieve your archived files, we would appreciate it. Let me know if you would like to meet to go over this. Thanks for your help. I work out of our Frisco Office and am willing to meet you and your consultant here to discuss the drainage. Both Windsor Estates and Deforest Court have been archived so it would be helpful if you could bring copies of these plans to the meeting. Dennis J. Chovan P.E. The City of Coppell has hired Quinn Spann with GSWW to design some improvements to Deforest Road. We will be rebuilding the portion from MacArthur Blvd to the concrete portion constructed with Windsor Estates. We hope to preserve as much of the drainage system within Deforest as possible. We have some specific questions that we are looking for answers to that I am unable to find in city records. We would like either meet with you to talk through these, or see if you can provide any insight on the following: 1. Can you provide us with copies of your computations for the design of the detention pond in Windsor estates? 2. There is a change in the HGL elevation at the downstream end of the pipe at the referenced pond between the Windsor Estates plans and the Deforest Court plans. Was there something that happened that caused this(LOMR, flap gate, etc...)? 3. The Villages of Coppell DA Map shows two DA's that discharge to the Deforest Road ROW within the limits of the drainage system built with Deforest Court. This water is not reflected in the Deforest Court plans. Any insight you can provide in these areas would be helpful. Thank you. Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681
