ST0003-CS100524 (8/16/2011) Keith Marvin - Curb Ramp on Coppell RoadPage 1 From: Keith Marvin To:bcraven@coppellisd.com; dturner@coppellisd.com; Harrell, Deana CC:Samaniego, Albert Date: 5/24/2010 8:28 AM Subject: Curb Ramp on Coppell Road Ms. Harrell, I know you all endured a year of construction last year, and I'm sure you thought it was over. Unfortunately when we had the state inspector come through for our ADA/TAS inspection we did not pass. The problem lies with the crosswalk that crosses Coppell Road in front of Wilson. The crosswalk leads up the driveway approach in the middle driveway. The problem with this is the slope of the driveway exceeds the maximum slope allowable under the ADA/TAS guidelines. The solution to this issue is re-routing the crosswalk, and installing a new ADA/TAS compliant curb ramp next to the driveway. I was hoping to put this work off until after school let out for the year, and fixing it over the summer, but we have been given a June 1st deadline. This work will take place this week. We will perform the work with as little interruption to your activities as possible. Albert Samaniego will again be coordinating the work with the contractor in the field. All work should be complete this week. If you wish to discuss this, or if you see something that concerns you, pleas call Albert at 469-576- 1458. Thank you for your patience. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681
