Dear Alan:
In response to you letter of July 13, 1988 to Jay Chester of ABQ
Development and our meeting with you, other members of the City
staff and Dr. Dave Stanfield of CISD on July 25, 1988, we have
proceeded to design and develop plans for Parkway BOulevard
extending west of Denton Tap Road. We submitted a Preliminary
Plat for the proposed Right-of-Way on August 17, 1988 to the City
and this plat is scheduled to be reviewed by the Planning and
Zoning Commission at their meeting on September 15, 1988. The
proposed Right-of-Way shown on the Preliminary Plat is in
accordance with the Right-of-Way shown on the exhibit we
presented at our meeting on July 25, 1988.
In your letter to Mr. Chester of July 13, 1988, you attached a
letter you received dated July 5, 1988, from Mr. Tim Hogsett of
the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. In his letter, Mr.
Hogsett stated that their review of a site plan entitled
"Proposed Coppell Community Park" dated November 9, 1982, found
that "Park Boulevard", as shown on the plan does not constitute a
conversion of fund supported property. He states that Park
Boulevard and a proposed intersecting road extending northwest
from Park Boulevard are of no concern to the Department.
Parkway Boulevard Right-of-Way as proposed extends through the
southwest corner of Andrew Brown Community Park. If the City of
CoppelL feels that the proposed Right-of-Way of Parkway Boulevard
in the area of the City Park complies with Mr. Hogsett's letter
of July 5, 1988, such that the Right-of-Way does not constitute a
conversion of fund assisted property, I request on behalf of ABQ
Development Corporation that the City of Coppe11 provide me a
letter stating that a Parkland Conversion or any luther approval
from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is not required if
the Parkway Boulevard Right-of-Way is dedicated in accordance
