The general consensus is that if the homeowners wish to remove the sign itself, that would be within your right as the owners of the sign. As far as removal of the island and paving over that area, the city is willing to do that during the reconstruction of Sandy Lake Road. It simply does not make sense from a financial standpoint for the city to expend resources removing the island now when the entire area will be torn up again within the next 12 months as part of the Sandy Lake Road project.
