Hello,
My name is Marilyn Strauss and I live at 145 Whispering Hills Dr. in Coppell. My son is starting high school
next year. I believe he is in walking distance as I see several kids walking home. I know a couple years
ago there was a teen killed crossing the street on Denton Tap and some major work was done to keep the
kids from crossing in other places than the cross walk. My concern is the kids crossing Sandy Lake where
there is NO CROSSWALK. I bet at least 25 kids walk home in the direction of Whispering Hills, which is a
major street into housing developments there. I see kids trying to cross the street and because there is no
crosswalk, I truly believe they are in danger of getting hit. Do we have to wait until one gets hit before you
do something about it? Or is there some process that can be started to petition for a cross walk? The city
had a light put in there in the last few years, but no crosswalk.
