ST9902-CS110616 (8/29/2011) Keith Marvin - Re: Sandy Lake TreesPage 1 From: Betty Bailey <BHBAILEY@VERIZON.NET> To: "Keith Marvin" <kmarvin@coppelltx.gov> Date: 6/16/2011 2:38 PM Subject: Re: Sandy Lake Trees I do appreciate your responding; and I understand that the idea for this "improvement" didn't originate with you. It's hard to understand why we need another "thoroughfare" through a residential area like this, but I also know we should have gotten involved in the discussion earlier. This will be a corridor carrying people right past Coppell from 114 all the way to I35. And I believe it will be detrimental to life in Coppell. And I wonder now if the big trucks will be coming straight through, as well. Those of us living in the neighborhood of Summer Place, where the homes are low values compared to the rest of Coppell, some of us retired here in order to help care for our grandchildren, etc., , will find it increasingly difficult to leave the neighborhood through parts of the day. And we have only one way out here in Summer Place. When there is the rare wreck at our entrance, we are unable to leave the neighborhood sometimes until it is cleared; we can only hope we never have to leave in an ambulance at such a time, or to pick up a grandchild who could be stranded at school. School buses, which are numerous in our neighborhood, will have to deal with the same delays and inconveniences. During the rush hours, I imagine we will be forced to go right in order to turn around and come back to the left. It is very discouraging. I will be picking my grandson up at Wilson next year (a right turn) but at times my granddaughter at the high school when the weather is bad (left turn.) At the very least, I would hope we would be provided with a second way out of this neighborhood, which we could use now! Recently, a moving truck at the first home on the right of our entrance, forced us to take the wrong lane in order to get out. The landscaping I'm sure will be attractive and replacement of trees will be appreciated. And I really do appreciate your response.
