RE: Question about widening of Sandy Lake Rd.
Thank you for your response. It was just saddening to us to see all those
beautiful trees (closer to Denton Tap being sliced down)...we figured it
must be for the road widening. Will it be 4 lanes w/ a median the entire
length between Coppell Rd. & Denton Tap?
Jennifer

Ms. Harper,
My name is Keith Marvin, and I am the project engineer for the Sandy Lake
Road widening project. You are correct in your assessment of the survey and
tree removal work being related to this project. Right now the franchise
utility companies are working on their relocations. The Gas company is out
there now, and the power company, phone, and communications companies will
begin relocating poles over the next few weeks. We anticipate utility
relocations will be complete by the end of the year.
The city will bid the actual street widening project near the end of this
year, and construction is anticipated to begin after the first of the year.
Construction of the roadway itself is expected to last approximately 12
months.
Please feel free to call me with any questions.
Keith

Hello! I'm not sure whom to ask about when Coppell plans to widen Sandy
Lake Rd. from Coppell Rd. South to Denton Tap. Would you be able to answer
my question? I have noticed a survey crew along Sandy Lake the last several
days as well as many trees being cut down I assume in preparation for the
future widening of Sandy Lake Rd. When is it planned for this road
construction to take place?
Thank you!
Jennifer Harper
