Re: Detour
Keith,
I received your message concerning the current detour on Southwestern Blvd. and the condition its in.
However at approximately 1:00 P.M. today I received a call from Rick O'Dell about some areas of concern
regarding the detour and had thought we had fixed the problem. This is the first I've heard of potential
damage to the fire equipment or a delayed response as a result of the detour. We will definitely take a
closer look at what adjustments can be made to improve the conditions of the detour on Monday.
Thanks,
Kody Harris

Subject: Detour
Gentlemen,
I received a call this evening from the Deputy Fire Chief concerning the quality of the current detour in use
on Southwestern Blvd. The Fire Department is concerned about potential damage to their apparatus, and
the possibility of a delayed response to a critical incident as a result of the condition of this detour.
As most of you know the city went to considerable additional expense to ensure that this road would
remain open for the duration of construction. The sole reason for that was the fire station.
We need to improve the condition of this detour as soon as possible, and maintain it in an acceptable
condition for the duration of its use.
I am happy to coordinate a meeting with the Fire Department to discuss their specific concerns if needed.
Feel free to contact me to discuss this matter.
Keith

This solution of utilizing HDPE pipe with a concrete collar at the
transition is acceptable to PacTrust. However, we would obviously defer
to the City for approval of the temporary alternate native for piping
