Subject: Bridge Rail
Jorge,
We have been discussing the bridge rail constructed on the Southwestern Blvd bridge. We understood that the contractor
would be building a TxDOT standard rail, rather than the City of Coppell standard that has been used for the majority of our
other bridges. We were under the impression that the contractor would be building the type 'A' window opening rather
than the type 'C'. The thought being that this would match more closely with the rectangular openings on the Coppell
standard rail.
The contractor has indicated that Halff Associates approved this change. I don't recall seeing this request, or discussing it
with you. Is there a reason why the city would not be consulted on this matter?
The city expects to be consulted on the color selection for the finish coat as well.
