ST0702-EM090312 Freese and Nichols MEMORANDUM TO: Ken Griffin, P.E.; Keith Marvin, P.E. FROM: Caleb Thornhill, P.E. SUBJECT: Coppell Road South — Street Lighting DATE: March 12, 2009 Below is a summary of the detailed Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) we've prepared for street lighting on the Coppell Road South project. We assumed all conduit and pull boxes will be installed with the construction of this project. Rick Fielding, with Oncor, indicated that the City of Coppell would receive an approximate $2000 credit per pole. Based on this information, here are three options for your consideration: Option 1: Do not install any light poles or fixtures Cost: $0 Comments: Due to economic concerns, lighting could be added later or possibly through other funding sources. Option 2: Install light poles at 120' spacing. Cost: —$46,000 Comments: 120' is twice the 60' recommended spacing (As shown on Bethel Road). There would be dark spots between lights until additional lighting was added. Option 3: Install light poles at 60' spacing Cost: 490,000 Comments: 60' spacing matches Bethel Road and is the recommended lighting level along the sidewalk. Please let me know your thoughts on these options. We are awaiting the City's direction regarding how we should proceed.
