ST0702-CS091113 Page 1 of 1 Keith Marvin - Devonshire Sub-Division - Part 1 From:   "Donna" <dogwoman23@tx.rr.com> To:   <Engineer@ci.coppell.tx.us> Date:   11/13/2009 12:12 AM Subject:   Devonshire Sub-Division - Part 1 CC:"'Tonja Kachner'" <tkachner@principal-mgmt.com>, "'Jean Cofer'" <imtheirs2@yahoo.com>, "'Anthony Hill'" <anthonyhill@yahoo.com>, "'Jo Ann Harris Hill'"     <joannhh@usa.net>   November 12, 2009   Dear Engineer Dept. -   I have lived in the Devonshire Sub-Division since the early 1990's, and while we have always had the airport noise, of which I do call in and report both to the City of Coppell, as well as, to the Airport - This new road noise is very disturbing on a lot of different levels.  We are now hearing the road noise all hours of the day and night, but, especially at night.  Did someone forget to budget for the sound barrier walls when the new highways were being built, as well as all the trees that were being removed and will continue to be removed for the new housing developments going in around us.   The noise is so loud that I have to wear ear plugs to try and focus during the day while I am working and at night to try and sleep.  We also are now unable to go out onto our patio with our families and friends due to the high decimal levels of  noise.  It is no longer the peaceful Coppell we all once knew.  I have to question if the airplanes are even this bad.  On a bad day, yes, without a doubt, the airplanes can give this new road noise a run for it's money but at night when the incoming flights settle down - you are at least able to enjoy your evening unless there is a really low ceiling.   I would like to know what the City's plans are on this.  Also, as well, what is currently in place  to help us to get the "Ole' Peaceful Coppell Feel" back - where we enjoy having our outdoor get-togethers with friends and family in our small wonderful community know as "Coppell".   Also another great thing would be able to sleep with no ear plugs and work with no ear plugs   Some of us have talked and feel like this has and will continue to have an affect on the value of our homes.  We originally bought  into Coppell because we felt our investments would be a solid investment and Coppell had the feeling of a small town that a lot of us grew up in.       Please have someone contact me by the end of next week to discuss what is in place to correct this problem for the Wonderful Citizens of Devonshire and of Coppell.      Thank you,   Donna Ort 492 Halifax Drive Coppell, TX   75019 972/462-4860 file://C:\Documents and Settings\radloo\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4AFD2BA3City...9/20/2011
